Diwali-Chhath Special Trains 2026: Railway passengers travelling between Mumbai, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have received additional travel options for the festive season. Western Railway has extended the operation of six special trains connecting Mumbai Central with Ahmedabad and Indore, helping passengers manage the increased rush associated with Diwali and Chhath travel.

The extended services comprise three pairs of trains. They will operate on different scheduled days through the final week of November 2026, with the last of these services continuing until November 30.

Train No. 09087, Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Special, will operate every Wednesday. Its service period has been extended until November 25, 2026.

For passengers travelling in the opposite direction, Train No. 09088, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Special, will operate every Thursday. The extended service will remain available until November 26, 2026.

This pair could provide another useful option for passengers unable to secure seats on regular trains during the festive travel period.

Two Special Train Pairs Available Between Mumbai and Indore

Passengers travelling between Mumbai Central and Indore will have two different pairs of special services to choose from.

The first extended pair includes Train Nos. 09079 and 09080.

Train No. 09079, Mumbai Central-Indore Special, will operate on Sundays and Tuesdays. Its service has been extended until November 29, 2026.

The return service, Train No. 09080, Indore-Mumbai Central Special, will run on Mondays and Wednesdays. It will continue operating until November 30, 2026.

This means passengers travelling between Mumbai and Indore will continue to get additional connectivity through the end of November.

Second Mumbai-Indore Special Service Also Extended

Western Railway has also extended another pair of special trains on the Mumbai Central-Indore route.

Train No. 09085, Mumbai Central-Indore Special, will run on Mondays and Fridays. Its extended operation will continue until November 27, 2026.

In the reverse direction, Train No. 09086, Indore-Mumbai Central Special, will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This train will continue until November 28, 2026.

Together, the two pairs provide passengers with special services on multiple days of the week between Mumbai and Indore.
