UPESSC Principal Recruitment 2026: Candidates seeking Principal posts in aided degree colleges of Uttar Pradesh now have additional time to apply. The application deadline has been extended to August 27, while corrections can be made until August 30.
Candidates preparing for teaching and administrative government jobs in Uttar Pradesh have received additional time to complete their applications. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has extended the deadline for applications for Principal posts in government-aided co-educational degree colleges and women’s colleges.
Eligible candidates can now submit their online applications and pay the prescribed application fee until August 27, 2026. Earlier, the application process was scheduled to close on August 20.
Along with extending the registration deadline, the commission has also revised the last date for making corrections to submitted applications.

The correction window was earlier scheduled to close on August 23. Following the extension, applicants will now have until August 30 to make permitted changes to their forms.
Written Exam Date Remains Unchanged
While the application and correction deadlines have been extended, candidates should note that there has been no change in the written examination date.
The Principal recruitment examination is scheduled to be conducted on September 24, 2026, as per the existing timetable.
This means candidates getting additional time for registration will have a relatively shorter gap between completion of the application process and the examination. Applicants should therefore continue their preparation while completing the registration formalities.
Recruitment Notification Was Released on July 21
UPESSC issued the recruitment advertisement on July 21, 2026, under Advertisement No. 02/2026.
The recruitment exercise is being conducted to fill Principal positions in aided co-educational degree colleges and women’s colleges across Uttar Pradesh.
The commission subsequently issued an update revising the deadlines for application submission, fee payment and correction of application forms.
Candidates who had not been able to complete their applications by the earlier deadline now have approximately another week to finish the process.
