The recruitment offers opportunities to candidates with a wide range of qualifications. Online applications started on September 3, 2026, and candidates have until October 19, 2026 to submit their forms. The recruitment is being conducted through Advertisement No. PGI/RC/2026/053/2192.

PGIMER Has Announced 60 Vacancies

A total of 60 positions are included in the recruitment drive, but candidates should note that all of them are not located at the same institution.

The Chandigarh vacancies consist of one Library Attendant Grade-I, one Animal Attendant, one Barber and 54 Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III posts.

10th Pass Candidates Have a Major Opportunity

The recruitment is particularly noteworthy for candidates who have completed Matriculation.

The largest vacancy category, Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III, has 54 positions. Candidates need Matriculation or an equivalent qualification along with knowledge of sweeping, dusting and cleaning.

For the Animal Attendant position, Matriculation or an equivalent qualification is required. The candidate should also be able to read and write in Hindi, English or Punjabi and have knowledge of cleaning and dusting.

The Barber position also requires Matriculation, along with at least two years of relevant experience in the trade.

This means candidates should not interpret “10th pass recruitment” as indicating that Matriculation alone is sufficient for every vacancy. Each post has its own eligibility requirements.

Library Attendant Requires Additional Qualification

The Library Attendant Grade-I vacancy also begins with a Matriculation-level requirement, but simply passing Class 10 is not enough.

Candidates need Matriculation with Science, a Diploma in Library Science and one year of experience handling books and journals in a library of repute.

Applicants should therefore carefully compare their qualifications and experience with the conditions prescribed for their chosen post before submitting an application.

Eligibility for Pharmacist Grade-II

The Pharmacist Grade-II position is available at the PGI Satellite Centre in Sangrur.

For this position, a candidate needs Matriculation or an equivalent qualification along with a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution or board.

The applicant must also be a registered pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

Therefore, being a Class 10 pass candidate alone does not make someone eligible for the Pharmacist vacancy.

Qualification for Medical Officer

The Medical Officer vacancy is a Group A position and naturally carries a much higher educational requirement.

Candidates must possess the prescribed recognised medical qualification covered under the applicable medical education requirements mentioned in the recruitment notification.

Applicants interested in this position should check the detailed notification for the complete qualification, registration and other eligibility requirements before applying.

Computer Programmer Eligibility

The Computer Programmer position is a Group B vacancy at the Sangrur centre.

The eligibility requirements are significantly different from those for the Matriculation-level positions. Published recruitment details specify qualifications including a relevant master's degree in areas such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or Physics, or an applicable engineering/computer science qualification, subject to the detailed conditions in the notification.

Candidates should verify the exact combination of qualification and experience specified by PGIMER rather than relying only on a brief recruitment summary.

Age Limit Varies According to the Post

Applicants also need to satisfy the prescribed age requirement.

For several of the notified positions, including MTS (Sanitation), Animal Attendant and Barber, the upper age limit is 30 years. The Computer Programmer position carries an upper age limit of 35 years, according to the published recruitment details.

Age is to be determined according to the conditions and cut-off date specified in the official notification.

Candidates belonging to categories eligible for age relaxation can receive the applicable benefit under government rules.

Salary Starts From Pay Level 1

The pay level varies considerably because the recruitment covers positions ranging from MTS to Medical Officer.

The MTS (Sanitation), Animal Attendant and Barber positions fall under Pay Level 1, with a pay range of ₹18,000 to ₹56,900.

Library Attendant Grade-I is under Pay Level 3, with ₹21,700 to ₹69,100.

Pharmacist Grade-II comes under Pay Level 5, carrying ₹29,200 to ₹92,300, while Computer Programmer is placed at Pay Level 7, with ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400.

The Medical Officer position carries Pay Level 10, with a range of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500.

These are pay-matrix ranges rather than guaranteed monthly take-home salaries. Actual earnings depend on the applicable basic pay, allowances, deductions and service rules.

How Will Candidates Be Selected?

Selection differs according to the category of post.

Published details indicate that the recruitment process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT), with further stages applying according to the post and recruitment rules. Candidates shortlisted through the prescribed process may also have to complete document verification and other applicable requirements.

For Group B and C posts, the published exam pattern indicates a test of 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of 100 minutes.

For the Group A Medical Officer position, the reported pattern consists of 85 questions for 85 marks in 85 minutes.

Candidates should use the detailed PGIMER notification as the final authority for the selection procedure applicable to their particular post.

How Much Is the Application Fee?

According to the recruitment details, candidates belonging to General, OBC and EWS categories have to pay ₹1,500, plus applicable transaction charges.

The application fee for SC and ST candidates is ₹800, along with applicable transaction charges.

PwBD candidates are exempt from the application fee.

Candidates should check their category carefully before paying because the fee and exemption conditions are governed by the official notification.

How to Apply for PGIMER Recruitment 2026

Applications are being accepted online. Candidates should access the recruitment section of PGIMER’s official website and locate Advertisement No. PGI/RC/2026/053/2192. The official PGIMER vacancy listing confirms that this advertisement relates to direct recruitment for Group C positions at Chandigarh and Group A, B and C positions at the Sangrur Satellite Centre.

Applicants should read the notification first, select the post for which they meet all eligibility conditions, complete the registration form and enter their personal, educational and other required information.

Photographs, signatures and supporting documents should be uploaded according to the prescribed specifications. Candidates required to pay a fee should complete payment before final submission.

A copy of the completed application should be retained for future reference.

October 19 Is the Last Date

The online application process began on September 3, 2026, and the final date to apply is October 19, 2026.

Although candidates have several weeks available, waiting until the final day is unnecessary. Applicants may need time to collect experience certificates, qualification documents, category certificates or professional registration records depending on the position.

Applying early also provides time to deal with technical problems that might occur during registration or payment.

54 MTS Vacancies Make This Recruitment Important for 10th Pass Candidates

For Matriculation-level job seekers, the standout feature of the recruitment is the availability of 54 MTS (Sanitation) Grade-III positions at PGIMER Chandigarh.

The basic educational requirement for these posts is Matriculation or equivalent, along with knowledge of sweeping, dusting and cleaning. The position is placed in Pay Level 1.

There are also Matriculation-based opportunities for Animal Attendant and Barber, although additional skills or experience apply to those positions.

Check Eligibility Before Submitting the Form

PGIMER Recruitment 2026 offers opportunities to candidates at very different qualification levels—from 10th pass applicants to pharmacy, computer and medical professionals.

A total of 60 vacancies are available, including 57 positions at PGIMER Chandigarh and three at the PGI Satellite Centre in Sangrur. The largest share consists of 54 MTS (Sanitation) vacancies.

Interested candidates have until October 19, 2026 to apply. Before submitting the form, applicants should carefully check the educational qualification, age limit, experience, fee, post location and selection conditions applicable to the position they want.

Most importantly, candidates should rely on the official PGIMER recruitment notice for final eligibility and application instructions rather than unofficial job messages circulating on social media.
